Welcome to the website of the Jewish School Leo Adler

The Jewish Primary School was founded in 1961 by the then rabbi of the Israelite Community of Basel, Rabbi Leo Adler, as a full-day school.
The aim was to enable all children of the community to receive, in addition to a solid secular education, the opportunity to learn and deepen their knowledge of Judaism.
In order to meet the changing needs of families, the Leo Adler School was converted into an afternoon school starting in the 2025/26 school year.
The children receive a total of six lessons of intensive Hebrew and Jewish studies over two afternoons.
The language of instruction is Hebrew.
Teaching is carried out with internal differentiation in order to meet the individual needs of all children.
The teaching materials used correspond to the latest pedagogical and didactic findings and are oriented toward the children’s everyday world.
